Maui Matsuri’s Family Movie Night, presented by Roselani Place, will be held on Friday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m., in the University of Hawai’i - Maui College’s Pilina Building and will feature the following two films:
"GREAT GRANDFATHER’S DRUM" - The film celebrates Japanese-American culture and history in Hawaii. An inspiring century-long story of struggle and success in the greatest American tradition -- of plantation life, patriotic heroism during World War II, and helping to create statehood for Hawaii.
"MEMORIES OF TOMORROW" – Starring Ken Watanabe, the film is about a successful businessman's family life being shattered by an early onset of Alzheimer's. A limited supply of Japanese bento dinners will be available for purchase. To reserve bentos, call the Maui Matsuri Hotline at 283-9999 by Thursday May 12. |
