The Maui Matsuri will be featuring a free movie night on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the UH Maui College's Pilina Building. The first movie shown will be "Only the Brave" directed by Lane Nishikawa. We are please to announce that he will also be present for the movie night to talk about his experiences filming this outstanding movie.
The second film will be "Howl's Moving Castle", an anime by Hayao Miyazaki. The movie night is free and there will be food available for purchase.

A kimono fashion show and a special performance by Uluwehi Guerrero will be the highlight of the Maui Matsuri kickoff event on Friday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

In conjunction with the upcoming 10th Annual Maui Matsuri, Photography By Irvin will be photographing participants in the Cosplay Competition. Participants are invited to call Photography By Irvin at 242-9447 to schedule appointments for Saturday, May, 15, 2010 during the Matsuri at University of Hawaii Maui College.
Cost for the photography and an 8 x 10 will be $45.00
Participants may also set up appointments for May 5 to 13 to be photographed at the studio in costume. Participants that are photographed prior to the 13th will also receive a free 4x6, which will be available on May 15.
