Maui Matsuri Cosplay Contest Information:
  • Registration: 1:00pm - 5:00pm (Registration Form)
  • Hallway Voting: 1:00pm - 5:30pm
  • Showcase Stage Presentation: 6:15pm - 6:45pm

Cosplay Costume Contest Rules:

  1. No metal props; cardboard or plastic is acceptable
  2. All ages may enter, however, those under the age of 18 must have their parent/guardian’s written permission
  3. The Maui Matsuri is a family event, so please make sure your costume is appropriate for all ages; revealing clothing will not be allowed
  4. At least 50% of the costume must be homemade (Showcase participants: please be available for pre-judging @4:30pm)
  5. Please be aware that by registering for the Cosplay Contest, you are giving permission to Maui Matsuri to post your picture in the Anime Lounge during the contest and to use your picture for promotional purposes
3rd Annual Pokemon Trading Card Game
  • Resistration: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Tournament Start Time: 3:30pm
  • Duration: 3 hours maximum
  • No entry fee
  • Prizes will be awarded

Rules:

To ensure the safety and fellowship between all pokemon fans, it is important to relay these important rules and regulations implemented by The Pokemon Company. Registration All players who wish to participate must register on the day of the tournament or can pre-register using the online form.

  1. Players must fill all required information and player ID is required to participate. If participant does not have a player ID, players can sign up on www.pokemon.com. (16 players maximum)
  2. If participant who is registering for the event is under the age of 13, a parent or guardian must be present!
  3. Players who have pre-registered must check in with the league officials to be accounted for on the day of the tournament. If players miss the time window before the tournament begins they forfeit their spot to participate.

Deck Checks and Formats

During registration or check-ins, a deck check is required to make sure the deck they will use to play in the tournament is legal.

  1. The format for the tournament is Expanded. Cards from the XY series and beyond are legal to use. ***The set Forbidden Light is released on May 4 but any card from that set is not legal to play in tournaments until the 3rd Friday of the month the set was released***
  2. Fake cards and proxy cards are not allowed in the tournament. No exceptions. Proxy cards will be issued if the player’s card was damaged during the tournament.

Tournament Style: Single Elimination

Video-Gaming Tournament: Puyo Puyo Tetris (Swap Mode)
  • Registration from 1 pm to 3 pm.
  • Tournament begins at 3 pm.
  • No entry fee, cash prizes awarded.
